חוויתיי מקורסים בלנדמרק מה קיבלתי ומה אני הולכת לעשות…

Today, as I look ahead to the challenges of 2009, I feel an overwhelming sense of pride in the graduates of Landmark Education.
Despite the challenges of today’s national economic crisis, the people are pushing forward in building better education, broadening access to health care, making our streets safer, and building a more secure world.
We’ve made important strides, but there surely is more work to do. I’m committed to do the job.
Great crises, through necessity, make us think clearly and practically about the most important responsibilities for the community and the world.
I believe that we can play a constructive role in people’s lives. I know it has in mine. I’m sure you feel the same.
I was born a little over 50 years ago in Israel, a country that was home to survivors of the Holocaust. Although it was a stain in the world’s history, it made the country stronger. Despite all the sadness, Israel was and is a wonderful environment to raise children in. One reason why is that through good times and bad, I’ve always been able to count on my community to stand together.
Today we must stand together. In ordinary times, our job would be difficult and we know these are not ordinary times.
What I say comes from my heart. I’ve decided to take on a couple of community service challenges. The first came about after completing the Landmark forum course. The inspiration for the second came after completing the Landmark advance course.
While we may not always agree, we must always share a common commitment to making the world a better place for this generation, and those beyond.
My first project is called The “Challenge for Peace” and I have a few idea about it but like to hear your purpose of an action.
My second project was inspired by the group “Simple Quilts” http://users.rcn.com/paulh1/simplequilts/ The group has completed several events that have produced quilts that have benefited people locally and around the world.
I’m now involved in “South Jersey for Change” This group is dedicated to community service and it’s goal is to make a difference. We are planning a group event for May 30th at the Cherry Hill Public Library in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. The focus is to create quilts for those in need. The event benefits Project H.O.P.E. in Camden New Jersey Project H.O.P.E is a program that provides medical treatment for mentally ill homeless people in Camden New Jersey. They are affiliated with the Lourdes Health System which operates Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital.

I’d also like to do a similar event in Philadelphia by the end of 2009.
I hope that you will join me in this great challenge

Sincerely,
Ruthy Lachman Paul
